UN-American Values in Pro Sports
Today is the first Darkest Day for the professional sports, especially National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Football League (NFL), in the United States of America. I am so saddened that I’ve discovered many disrespects towards our American country. First of all, my article is strictly neutral and non-partisan.
Wow! I cannot believe that Donald Trump is the toughest, harshest and strongest-outspoken President of the United States ever I have seen in my whole life! I was so grateful that I did not vote for Trump last November. (As a centrist Democrat, I actually voted for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton due to my serious concerns of Trump’s well-known bigotries and reckless insults.) Well, I am not taking either sides between President Trump and professional athletes at this time. I stay neutral as I strictly believe the traditional American values including standing for the National Anthem.
As you know, the defending championship team visits the White House and U.S. president once every year. Recently, the White House invited the true-cheating Golden State Warriors to celebrate their 2017 NBA championship. The Warriors players and Head Coach Steve Kerr are well-known outspoken with heavy critics against President Trump. They had debated whether they should visit the White House. My #1 hateful NBA player and enemy, seven-time NBA All-Star forward Kevin Durant, has already announced last month that he is not heading to the White House because he doesn’t respect who’s in office right now.
Four-time NBA All-Star guard Stephen Curry hesitated for a while before he has made the final decision that he is not going to the White House for the same reason as Kevin Durant’s. Obviously, most of the celebrities and professional athletes don’t respect who is in office right now. They keep up taking personal attacks on President Trump because they believe that Trump is very racist towards the blacks, Muslims, disabled people, etc. When President Trump found out about Curry’s decision, he fearlessly rebuked on his Twitter that the Warriors’ invitation has been rescinded. Also, President Trump dared to criticize several NFL players for kneeling in honor for most disrespectful quarterback Colin Kaepernick during the National Anthem prior to the tips of the NFL games. Back in September 2016, Kaepernick started to protest against the tradition of standing during the playing of The Star-Spangled Banner song because he believes that America oppresses the blacks and people of color. At that time, Barack Obama was still our U.S. President and was the first black president ever in U.S. history. As Kaepernick’s supporters, more NFL players have started to kneel during the National Anthem. Because of this, I suspect that the NFL fan rating has been declined, according to the ESPN report.
Well, both sides are WRONG! First of all, I agree with President Trump that everyone must stand in honor for the America’s traditional National Anthem and its national flag prior to the start of every game or event. NO kneeling for any reason! Anyone is clearly disrespectful and disgraceful to the United States of America for:
- Kneeling during the America’s National Anthem
- Burning or destroying the USA flag
- Taking attacks on the America’s traditional values
Why that person lives in America for what? What’s for?!? Well, that’s a good point! As you see why the NFL fan rating has been declined, it is clear that many American-sports fans DO NOT appreciate how the NFL players recklessly dare to kneel during the National Anthem regardless of the reasons! SHAME on all idiotic NFL players for wrongful kneeling during the National Anthem!!!!!
However, I strongly oppose Trump’s cruel comment: If any player doesn’t stand for the National Anthem in a proper manner, the NFL commissioner or team owner should fire this player. Wow! This was the strongest insult ever I’ve seen from any U.S. president in my whole life! Oh my God!
In my philosophy, the top commissioner of a major professional sports league (i.e. NBA, NFL, NHL, MBL) should set the harsher rules of the players’ behaviors, including mandatory standing for the National Anthem prior to the tip of every game. Under my rules, any player’s choice of kneeling or sitting during the national anthem is strictly prohibited, period. No exceptions! Every player must show a full respect to our American country, its American flag and its national anthem with The Star-Spangled Banner song by STANDING prior to the tip of every game. Suppose in the NFL or NBA commissioner’s shoes, I would fine any player at least $10K and suspend him for two or three games for violating one of my behavior rules. Firing a player for violating my rules of behavior is totally ridiculous unless the player has severe insanity (i.e. manic depression) or well-known disruptive behavior (i.e. all-time bad tempers, abuser, drug dealer). I agree with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver about two things on his statement release:
- We are in favor of the defending NBA championship team visiting the White House.
- We are disappointed that it will not happen this year.
Retired NBA forward Charles Barkley, a current NBA studio analyst for Turner Network Television (TNT), is absolutely right that the Golden State Warriors’ stance of not visiting the White House because they don’t like who the president is sets a bad precedent. Under my rules in the NBA Commissioner’s shoes, the defending NBA championship team is mandatory to visit the White House and our U.S. president and celebrate their most recent NBA championship as if the schedule on both sides is permitted. TOO BAD for any player or even coach who despises the president. The entire team must show their respect to our president in the professional manner. PERIOD! That is the same idea that you must show up in the retirement or change-of-command ceremony of the wing, organization or squadron’s commander during your military service. Only emergency of the family matters or health issues OR conflict of schedule would be excused for any player or coach for being unable to attend the mandatory visit with the White House. Protesting against the president you despise will NEVER be excused and acceptable under my rules of professional behaviors. TOO BAD!
Any player on the most recent national championship team for not visiting the White House in protest against the U.S. president is totally DISRESPECTFUL, DISGRACEFUL and SHAMEFUL! This player is clearly very unprofessional with its bad role towards millions of the fans. SHAME on this player! The GS Warriors players, especially Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, are the exact examples of the disrespectful, disgraceful and shameful players protesting against our current U.S. president! SHAME on them!
Therefore, I understand why President Trump has his right to make the decision to rescind the Warriors’ invitation to the White House. Of course, I am so saddened that many NBA players don’t respect our current U.S. president. To be honest with you, I would be willing to show up in the White House and celebrate the national championship with the U.S. president, although I don’t agree with President Trump on many issues. To be fair, President Trump must deserve more respect from the NBA players, other athletes, celebrities, politicians and rest millions of the legal U.S. citizens regardless of our major political parties.
Oh my God! How DARE California’s Lieutenant Governor and Gubernatorial candidate, Gavin Newsom, recklessly outspoke about racism issues on his Facebook page! Obviously, Gavin is NOT growing up to a true gentleman with more respect for anyone, regardless of his likes and dislikes. Gavin’s immature trolls on the social media networks drive me so nuts! That is why I am very grateful that I am NOT endorsing Gavin! Yikes!
As I am critically outspeaking as the NBA Anti-SuperTeam advocate, I strongly condemn the stupidest and witchy Golden State Warriors organization for everything they have taken advantages of all opponents: CHEATING with sickest-egoistic superstar Kevin Durant along with their original three players (Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green)! They are NOT the true NBA champions! The San Antonio Spurs or Cleveland Cavaliers should be declared as the true 2017 NBA champions, period! The Warriors are actually LOSERS and CHEATERS!!!!!
Wow! Overall, I can’t believe that everything on whole sides is totally very UN-American! How SAD!
